Loose Ends of Chapter 3

The end of Chapter 3 saw the escape of Robert Flowers, after some deliberation. It also brought punishment from the elder immortals for doing so without their permission. The punishments are as follows, as well as a few other loose ends.

  • Schwarz must kill his sister through disembowelment in his wolf or hybrid form.
  • Raynor will be publicly shamed by Chester.
  • Raynor owes a boon to an Ice Devil, equivalent to one soul.
  • Ishraq must submit to a marriage of Drakona‚Äôs choosing.
  • Kevar must deliver 10 of his students to Meerenburg, where they will become slaves.
  • Scarlet must put the Daemon that stole her soul on her Council.
  • Robert Flowers and Litsare have agreed to help take over Gaulstein. Flowers expressed interest in the position of Spymaster, should he succeed.
  • Malfine Godkiller, former General of Meerenburg, vampire and collaborator of Flowers’, is still at large.
  • Harkness is ignorant of Flowers’ survival or continued operations.
  • The Harbinger Equation has been acquired- a shifting green crystal covered in gold writing. It was the secret project of Mortimer Flint, who said that “against the greatest of foes, it is the greatest of weapons.” The Equation drives those who study it mad. An elixir called the Flayer’s Tincture will prevent insanity, but will weaken the user physically, including their monstrous powers.
